What really happens in my coaching program?

When fitness doesn't feel like fitness with your mates.

My boyfriend works in aerospace engineering and his attention to detail is something else.


He writes the most comprehensive emails of anyone I know.


The type that lands in your inbox and fills you with dread because you have so much to do in it.


I got asked the other day about how my coaching works.


It was in an email, so I sent a pretty detailed email back so Stefan could be proud of me.


My detailed email is too good not to let you read.


So I thought I would let you know what goes into coaching.


Each week I say about what I help with but this week it’s about how I do that.


So here it is -


My approach is very person led, as I’ve coached enough women to know that you are all different. However, my coaching is very much led by you as I’m not the expert on your life, I’m the expert in fitness and nutrition but the application to your life needs to be led by you. 


Because that’s how it becomes sustainable and you enjoy doing it. 


So for instance if I suggest you need to workout 3 times in the week I will ask when you will be able to do that, instead of telling you what days, you would also have autonomy over what workouts you did that day as long as you got the number which I suggest in over the week.


If you have a busy week coming up we can lessen the load which we do and build that in as a phase rather than trying to keep everything up and feeling disappointed.


I’m all about guidelines and not rigid rules - it gets much better results and it feels better too. 

In regards to nutrition - I can guarantee that I will work on your relationship with food and if your goal involves some fat loss then that will be done ethically.


A week of coaching looks like this - 


Saturday - Sunday - Time to fill out a weekly review and plan form on my app. This has 19 specific coaching questions which are designed to pull out your internal motivation, keep you focused on your long term goal, identify areas for improvement and also what has gone well. This would take between 10-20 mins depending on how much detail you pop in (we do like detail!).


Monday - I will provide a PDF and a presentation with my coaching back to you via WhatsApp. This is generally no longer than 5 mins long as I ask questions, give my expert options and also change things on the plan if needed.


You would then come back to me with your thoughts and we message via WhatsApp.


Tuesdays - I have off as I go swimming with my little boy and it’s full on!


Wednesday - I will message and see how you are doing, I will check the app for workout progress and to keep you accountable. Again we will discuss anything that comes up for you.


Friday - Another message if I think that you need it, making sure you are set up for the weekend and working towards your goals.


Time wise and contact with me is very much dependent on you and what phase you are in, some of my women you are working in strength might not need so much contact time as someone working on their relationship with food as we unpick years of habits and beliefs.


Some weeks it’s more, some it’s less. 


Workouts are no longer than 30 mins and are completed at home with minimal equipment, and with kids and designed around any injuries that you have. All are bespoke, personal and fun! I also have Pilates “on demand” videos which are either 45 mins (Pilates and Lattes) or 15 mins (Power Pilates) long and are fantastic.


Overall my style is empowering, compassionate and free from shame, guilt and judgement. And I help women want to do things for themselves and see that looking after them isn’t selfish but something that should be put in the diary under non negotiables.
