The all or nothing mindset shift

I see this so much with my clients.

It's super common.

And in certain situations it is pretty helpful.

Until it's not.

The all or nothing mindset.

The black and white mindset.

The going to the gym 4 times a week followed by months of not going.

The eating and counting every calorie followed by the takeaways at the weekend.

As always I'm going to tell you how to shift this mindset.

Shift the root cause and not just the surface level actions (which you can't work out why you can't do anyway).

Here's what you are going to do - (I do this with my 1-1 clients but in A LOT more depth -

- Bring awareness to it.

What other areas of your life do you live in this all or nothing mindset? I've seen it in clients with cleaning, with work, parenting and hobbies.

- What does the 50 shades of grey look like in the middle?

What does it feel like? What does it look like? What are you doing?

- Reframe the mindset

You don't have to have this mindset, you have the power to change it and it's not something that you are stuck with. Embrace the grey!

- Do the actions.

After bringing awareness to the all or the nothing, do the opposite action, then do it again and again. You will then build up an evidence bank of you "living in the grey" so you no longer have that mindset.

This works really well with my clients because it's the mindset shift which makes it sustainable.

We aren't looking at your willpower, determination or motivation here (which lets face in 2 weeks into January) you are probably questioning.

But it's actually not about those things anyway.

It's about the deeper shifts.

If you have this mindset, drop me a message on social media or email me about coaching and I'll book you in for a free consultation about how I can help with this mindset shift.

Listen in to Chatting with Cara this week too as I delve deeper into this here.
