Doing it all (and enjoying it this Christmas)

This week I've -

- Played netball on Monday night (top of the league FYI)

- Ran my Virtual Mindful Eating Workshop on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

- Played netball on Wednesday (netball is life)

- Ran a business and transformed my clients mindsets around food, supported them with sick children, end of school madness and everything in between.

- Cooked every meal.

- Ticked off all things Christmas.

- Brought the magic with the elves every.single.night.

I could go on but you get the idea don't you?

I do a lot. I support a lot. It's all a lot.

But you know what - I enjoy it.

And here's how - I know how to manage and regulate my emotions.

I prevent the overwhelm.

I don't get anxious.

I actually enjoy my life.

And you can too even at this hectic time of year.

You just have to regulate those emotions.

Which sounds a pretty easy thing to do - yeah no problem Cara I'll do that but then the next time everyone wants feeding, the washer is beeping and you've got to deal with a spillage if all goes out the window.

So here are two little tips for you -

- Build some resilience up - start journalling, doing something with your body, offload to someone regularly.

Do something which helps you be you.

Have a hobby - have I mentioned that I like netball?

Start living a life which you want on your terms (January is a great time for this) and working on your values is a good starting point, that's where I start with every new client actually.

- In the moment, parent yourself.

Have a real deep look at what's going on for you and why you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed - like the REAL why.

Then treat yourself like a child and parent yourself.

What do you need to do?

Do you need to reply to that message?

Do you need to vent to someone who's not going to offer advice?

Do you need an early night?

Give yourself what you need.

Do not reach for the food, even if the mince pies are looking at you.

Do not reach for a glass of red because you can.

Do what your emotion needs.

That's emotional regulation.

That's the tool that I use every single day to get through the Christmas period and actually enjoy it.

If this sounds like great advice to you, then I've got plenty more where this comes from that you could benefit from.

I'm lining up clients now to start in January, so this is your sign to enquire about coaching here.

And make 2026 the year where you actually really enjoy your life.
