What do lip fillers and GLP-1 drugs have in common?

ree

Story time....

Okay so way back in 2019 I had a wisdom tooth out.

The whole thing was traumatic.

The whole thing got infected.

The whole thing was just a nightmare.

However, at the height of infection my whole face swelled up.

Including my lips.

I loved it.

They looked great.

I was deep in The Only Way is Essex and everyone had lip fillers.

And I was curious about them.

What would they look like on me?

Would they look as full as hers?

So I got them done.

I loved them and I still love them.

Now here comes the analogue.

Curiosity is a primitive human emotion - I mean who ever thought about drinking cow's milk in the first place must have been a curious person!

And there's a lot of curiosity around these GLP-1 weight loss injections.

I bet you know someone on them, someone who's lost a bit of weight, someone who tells everyone how good they are.

And your curiosity might be saying to you -

I wonder if they will work for me?

How much of my appetite would be suppressed?

How would my body change?

And I totally get it.

However, there's a few things that you have to know and do

Healthy habits still need to be in place.

My advice for everyBODY becomes more important if you are thinking about taking (or taking) GLP-1 drugs.

So here's the 3 healthy habits that you need in place before you do anything.

- Increase your protein and decrease your saturated fat. Protein helps maintain that "toned" look, it creates muscle and trust me from a health perspective you want to have as much muscle as possible on your bones (I'm not talking bodybuilder here don't worry). The weight loss drugs not only dissolve fat but they also dissolve muscle and you really don't want that.

- Strength train, same reasons as above in regards to the muscle, the less muscle you can lose the better. But also your shape will change and if you don't have that muscle underneath the fat which you are losing, you probably won't be happy with the shape change. Strength training means you can be in charge of that body.

- Work on your relationship with food, emotional regulation which looks like not turning to food when you are stressed, hormonal, bored and for comfort. Because you can't do that on the drugs as it takes away a coping strategy. Also, trust me when I say it's one of the best things you can do for yourself in the long term - it really is.

They are my healthy habit tips, if you want any help implementing them then I'm your girl.
