If I was going on holiday to an all inclusive resort - here's what I would do to feel confident around the pool

We are off to Turkey in less than 3 weeks.

We are staying at one of those mega hotels, I'm really intrigued as to what it's going to be like and I'm also looking forward to having some proper time off.

Now then I've coached my fair share of women who want to feel confident around the pool on holiday.

It's a really common goal and one that motivates women (mainly from a place of pain - which I don't like).

But nevertheless it's a very common goal and one which you might be thinking about if you are jetting off on holiday this summer.

So I'm here to tell you about how you can feel confident around the pool.

Obviously in the Coaching with Cara way - we are going deep!

These are a mixture of practical steps, things to think about or journal and things to do mentally, all with the aim of making you more confident.

- Add in protein and fruit and veg into your diet.

Have an inclusive approach to your nutrition instead of a restrictive one.

If you are going all inclusive then restricting before hand and binging whilst away doesn't do anyone any favours when it comes to confidence.

Don't restrict yourself in the first place.

- Buy clothes that actually fit.

You will feel and look much better if you have actually the right size clothes on. Sounds super simple but trust me it works!

- Have a think about what the purpose of the holiday is.

Hint - it's not a catwalk on the poolside. Is it more about relaxing with your family, seeing somewhere new, getting out of the mundane, spending quality time with the kids, escaping with a good book. What's the actual reason for you going?

- What foods are you looking forward to and what aren't you too fussed about?

Having this clear before you get to the buffet should inform your choices so they act alignment with your goals and how you want to feel. I mean I'm heading straight to the prawns and leaving the chips underneath the glow lamp.

- How do you want to feel at the end of the holiday?

When you are boarding the flight home what does a good holiday look and feel like to you and what makes that up?

Do you want to feel like you've enjoyed the food but not overeaten, do you want to feel bloated and sluggish. Have a think and let your behaviours be guided by this.

Additional little tips for you -

- Take the emphasis away from what your body looks like to what she does for you.

You are going on holiday and your body is a vessel for that.

- Stop the comparison.

To previous you, to someone else around the pool to the version of you that you want to be. Stop it.

- Reduce the negative self-talk.

It doesn't help anything at all - go and enjoy your holiday!

I hope you've found these tips helpful and as always I dig into them further on my podcast - drop it a listen for some more context.

Let's feel confident around the pool not because if your weight.
