Last week I popped a reel up about food rules and whilst it didn't go viral, it was very popular.
So I've written this email and recorded an episode on Chatting with Cara on them (links below).
Because they are running riot through your subconscious, without you even knowing about them.
Food rules are just that. Rules we have on what, when and how we eat.
They have come from other people in your childhood, from diets you have done and yourself.
Think -
- Finish everything on your plate before dessert.
- Intermittent fasting and not eating before 11am.
- Not having ultra processed foods.
You get the idea but these are common ones I see but as a coach I always delve deeper and I see rules upon rules which hamper a good relationship with food for you.
Think -
- Not having soup because it comes with bread and bread is bloating.
- Only having one portion of fruit a day because they are high in sugar.
- Avoiding artificial sweeteners because of the effect on blood sugar.
You see when a food rule comes about for you and you follow it, you think you are doing the "right" thing.
Experts are saying to do it so it must be true.
But not always.
Food rules is something that we are going to be discussing in The Introduction to Mindful Eating workshop, because when I can find and unpick these food rules for you, how, what and when you eat changes.
You become more intuitive again.
And no, that doesn't mean eating a whole packet of biscuits because you feel like it.
It means you have the tools and strategies to come to the decision not to eat the whole packet of biscuits by yourself without the need for food rules.
Forever.
That's what makes it sustainable.
If this has resonated with you, have a think you have some sneaky food rules which need to be taken away, get yourself booked onto the workshop and we can do just that, allowing you to change the way you think and feel around food.
