What happens when you start asking yourself better questions?

How beautiful are these flowers which my client gave me to say thank you for the transformational work we've done together?
How beautiful are these flowers which my client gave me to say thank you for the transformational work we've done together?

In coaching I'm used to asking a lot of questions.

I don't dictate anything.

But true shifts come when you can ask yourself really good questions.

I just pop them into your mind, and then you ask them yourself.

This is what has happened over the last few weeks with a new lady who has come onboard for coaching after the food noise on her all inclusive holiday was too much.

Instead of enjoying her holiday, being present with her family - food thoughts took over.

So I thought it would be helpful with lots of people going on holiday to share a really powerful question that you can ask yourself.

Drum roll please.

How hungry am I?

That's it.

It's that simple.

Give yourself a score out of 10 and then make an informed decision based on that score.

The hunger and fullness scale.

This works.

It empowers you.

It puts you back in touch with your physical self.

And it's loads better than -

Am I hungry?

There's a subtle difference between the two questions.

My one is more powerful.

Because it's not a yes or no answer.

It's not black and white.

Why and how we eat is very multidimensional, and it requires a really good question to pull out the internal motivation.

This particular question has been a game changer for my client.

So next time you are thinking of eating something - ask yourself this and see what comes up.
